With the goal of training professionals qualified to comprehend nature’s phenomena, human interference in the environment, and to promote sustainable development and biodiversity conservation, the Program offers two degrees: the Teaching Program and Bachelor’s Degree. The Teaching Program has the main goal of training professionals to work in all levels of education. The Bachelor’s trains qualified professionals to carry out research in the broad areas of Biological Sciences such as Parasitology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Ecology, etc.
Besides following the educational career, the biologist graduated in UFOP is able to design and carry out studies, projects on basic or applied scientific research in the several branches of biology. There is also the possibility of guiding, directing, and advising public or private companies and foundations related to biotechnology, biological conservation, and environmental impact studies.
