UFOP’s Startup is approved in acceleration notices

The first spin-off from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP), Épsilon Automação LTDA, was approved in two different notices for non-reimbursable acceleration resources: SeedGov MG and Centelha MG, both programs that seek to develop national entrepreneurship.

The company is focused on developing disruptive technologies for the agribusiness and mining sectors. It aims to promote technologies protected by UFOP, putting them on the market for the benefit of economic and social development. It is one of the companies that will be part of UFOP Business Incubator.

Épsilon has a shared use agreement with the University and is currently made up of partners Érica Silva Pinto, a PhD student in the Graduate Program in Computer Science (PPGCC/UFOP); Matheus Teixeira Neiva, a former student in the Graduate Program in Instrumentation and Control of Mining Processes (Proficam/ITV/UFOP); and Alan Kardek Rêgo Segundo, a professor in the Department of Control and Automation Engineering (Decat/UFOP).

Recently, the startup signed agreements with UFOP, the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), and the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) to transfer technologies developed by the partners.

The Centelha Program, in turn, aims to encourage the creation of innovative ventures and disseminate entrepreneurial culture throughout Brazil. For the projects chosen, the program offers training, financial resources and other types of support, with the aim of boosting the transformation of ideas into successful businesses.
