Conversation circle to celebrate the Afro-Latin American and Caribbean Women’s International Day

The Faculty Members’ Association of the Federal University of Ouro Preto (Adufop) promotes, next Tuesday (25), the conversation circle entitled "The black and Latin American women in social and union struggles in defense of education and public university". The event, which takes place at 7 pm at the Institute of Applied Social Sciences (ICSA), in Mariana, celebrates the  Latin American and Caribbean Black Women’s International Day, celebrated on July 25. 


 
With the participation of Susana Maria Maia, first treasurer of Faculty Members’ Association of the Fluminense Federal University (Aduff) and professor of the Interdisciplinary Department of Rio das Ostras (RIR), the meeting seeks to reaffirm the importance of the struggle of black women against racism, sexism and social inequalities, in addition to recognize their historical protagonism in the defense of rights, democracy and public education. 
 
As part of the reflection and mobilization actions around that date, the debate, open to the entire university community, integrates the local activities of the Work Group "Class Policies for Ethnic-Racial, Gender and Sexual Diversity Issues".
