The Civil Engineering Graduate Program (Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Civil – PROPEC) has been contributing in the Masters level training of engineers and architects in the field of Metallic Construction since 1992 and since 2005, it also offers the Doctoral Degree. PROPEC has two concentration areas: Structures and Construction (before 2018 it was Metallic Construction) and Geotechnics. Its lines of research include Architecture and Built Environment, Structures Behavior and Dimensioning, Structural and Materials Engineering, and Computational Mechanics. The other area, Geotechnics, was implemented in the program in 1998, and its lines of research are: Geotechnics of Urban Slopes, Geotechnics Applied to Mining, Environmental Geotechnics, and Numerical Methods in Geotechnics.
